Take A.I.M. - The Singapore Market Version!

Image
With the success of " A.I.M.- Actionable Ideas Movement ", Simple Investor and I had decided to conduct a similar course for Investors of the Singapore Stock Market. I can never say enough. But once again, I will like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that attended AIM. You made the event a success!  What is A.I.M. – SG Version? This is an extension of the newly design course – Actionable Ideas Movement – within the Singapore Market. The main AIM for this course is to: (1) introduce new investing methods to the Singapore Investors; and (2) by the end of the course, we hope participants will be able to invest in Singapore Markets with comfort and the right mindset, regardless of the macro environment. This course also AIMs to provide what participants want such as the following: 1. The course will allow participants to ask questions beforehand. These questions will be answer during the course. Take A.I.M. - Let's Hit Bullseye Together!

How do you feel after attending a course/workshop?  Do you follow what was taught?  Do you gain anything from the course?  Did you take any action after the course? These are the questions I kept asking myself after presenting various workshops and courses to the participants. I always wonder if the participants gain anything from the workshop or even wondered if they took any actions? Thus, I have been wanting to design a course where I am certain the participants had gained from it and took some actions. After all, I believe that should be the main reason why a participant will want to attend a course! So after many months of planning and discussion with readers, I had finally came up with A.I.M ., which meant " Actionable Ideas Movement ". A.I.M. is a new course – Actionable Ideas Movement – that is designed by me.. The main AIM for this course is to:  (1) introduce the HK and US market to the Singapore Investors; and (2) by the end of the cou...

How To Invest During A Weak Market?

Image
Market has been moving on a downward trend. So how has your portfolio been doing? If your portfolio is down more than 3%, you will have been better off investing in the STI ETF. On the other hand, you may have exited many of your positions and will like to invest in companies that could probably be the fastest to rise back. You will be looking for companies that will be able to produce a “V” shape recovery and not a “U” shape recovery. Being the scorecard creators, Simple Investor and I had continued to create our 3rd Scorecard – The Moat Scorecard   (yes, I am repeating…). We believe that a company with a strong moat will be able to withstand the volatility of our current market and even if its shares are on a downward trend, it will probably provide the investor with a “V” shape recovery. For this post, I will not be repeating what about what the Moat Scorecard can do. But I will like to highlight on the backtesting we had done for this scorecard. Moat Score again...

Want I Really Wanted To Do...

Image
When I started this blog, I just wanted to share what I knew about investing. But as I got more involved within the investing scene in Singapore, I felt that there was a lack of understanding towards investing. Scenario that I came across resulting in me having these thoughts: 1. Investors start asking if a particular hot counter (that is no longer hot) can be invested, because its price has suddenly dropped. 2. Investors wanted more returns. This resulted in them getting scammed by others as they go for impossible guaranteed returns unless the person is Warren Buffett . 3. Investors just want hot tips - Buy or Sell. They just don't want to do due diligence. 4. Investors just follow others and buy the hottest counter at that time. Later not, they forget to sell and cannot bear to cut loss. Therefore, being a more experience investor, I just wanted to find more ways to help others . Thus I created my scorecards and upgraded them till The Super Scoreca...
